Abstract

This work presents an analysis of ways to improve the efficiency of low-power autonomous power supply systems through the selection of the optimal aerodynamic and electromechanical design for wind turbines. Based on a literature review and theoretical concepts expanding upon the classical Betz limit, the study examines methods for overcoming operational challenges in isolated microgrids under turbulent and low-wind conditions, as well as approaches to assessing battery degradation. The potential feasibility of achieving a power coefficient of up to 81.4% in two-stage turbines is substantiated. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive analysis and conceptual identification of the coaxial counter-rotating bi-rotor configuration as the most promising solution for small-scale distributed generation. The practical significance of the work consists in systematizing data on the potential of integrating Digital Twin technology to optimize aerodynamic performance, enable predictive monitoring, and facilitate intelligent energy storage management, which conceptually elevates wind turbines to the class of highly reliable systems.
